Based in south England, this outfitting company is a team of professionals with over 30 years of experience with deer management, big game hunting and wing shooting throughout the United Kingdom. They specialize in premium wild, free range hunts on private land they exclusively lease and control, land no other outfitters can hunt on. With zero outside hunting pressure from the public or from competing outfitters, they offer some of the highest success rates and along with some of the best trophy quality that can be found, with the majority of their clients taking mature, medal-class animals. Additionally, they have additional access to the some of the country’s most famous estates throughout the region, including Bedfordshire, where huge red stag, Pere David deer, fallow and sika deer trophies can be found.
Chinese Water Deer and Muntjac
These very unique tusked species are one of the most popular combination hunts in the UK, and one of this outfitter’s specialties. First introduced more than 100 years ago, they remain very affordable, and have proliferated throughout England. Most hunts will involve a combination of spotting and stalking still hunting, or high seats, each with easy walking, allowing most hunters of various ages and physical abilities opportunity to take quality animals. Although there is no closed season for Muntjac, the season for Chinese Water Deer is from November 1st through the end of March, with the best period from November through February while the hide quality is ideal. By mid-March, many of the Muntjac begin casting their antlers and the hair on the water deer may begin to slip.
Very few hunters will import their own firearms into the UK. We recommend using the outfitter’s, who can offer quality, suppressed rifles in various calibers, and these are included in each package. Shooting distances can vary from 50 yards to more than 200. It is not uncommon to have multiple shooting opportunities on every outing, however these hunts are 100% wild and free range, and animal movements and success can never be guaranteed. That said, three hunting days has been enough time on past hunts to successfully harvest a medal-class trophy of each species. Additional hunting days or customs packages can be tailored to each request.
Roe Deer
Found throughout the United Kingdom, European roe bucks offer an affordable and exciting option, with hunting opportunities earlier in the year than most other big game species. With a season from April through October, these small deer rut during the peak summer months of July in to August. Deer numbers are currently high, with excellent numbers of medal-class heads. Although game movement is often unpredictable, quality bucks are often found by scouting and the outfitter’s wide use of game cameras prior to a hunter’s arrival. Opportunity rates are near perfect, with most hunters electing to take several deer during a single hunt.
Japanese Sika
The United Kingdom is one of the few places this species can be hunted in a wild, free ranging environment, or it can be hunted inside game parks for exceptional trophies.
Game Park Hunts (Estate)
England has a number of game parks, with most several thousand acres in size, offering world-class trophies and exotic species including red stag, fallow and sika deer, axis and the rare Pere David deer. These game parks may be hunted from August through April, with pricing based on the size of trophy taken. Exceptional red stag trophies are quoted individually, with most other species priced by category of trophy class (class A, class B, etc).
