This facility has superb fishing for walleyes up to 14 pounds right in front of the lodge in the Spring (late May, June and July). It has excellent fishing for northern pike up to 20 pounds (best in warmer summer months); and it has some very good Lake Trout fishing in June, July and August for lakers up to 50 pounds!! Averages of course are smaller. This is a huge lake, with hundreds of miles of shoreline to prospect, insuring good fishing.
This is a premier Fishing Resort with your own cabins–located in Northern Saskatchewan on Lac La Ronge. The Lake is 1400 square kilometers and has 1300 islands! The Lodge sits on the Canadian Shield in front of twelve native spruce log cabins. The Walleye spawn and live in front of the Lodge bay where females averaging 5 lbs thrive alongside trophies reaching the resort record of 16.8lbs.
The Lake Trout are so abundant in a nearby Bay that Lac La Ronge is included in the Freshwater Fisherman’s Bible as being one of the top trophy Lake Trout lakes in the world. And if you love hunting for Northern Pike you can catch hundreds of these fighters ranging from 2lbs to 30lbs and beyond, right next to the lodge.
Lac La Ronge is a world-class fishery that is also a protected provincial park. Part of the Churchill River, Lac La Ronge is the fifth largest lake in Saskatchewan. The lake supports the trophy size of Walleye, Lake Trout, Pike, Perch, Burbot, and Lake Whitefish. It also has more variety of fish species than any other lake or river in the province. Also, check out their remote, private hike-in lakes.
You are issued a deep V sixteen foot aluminum boat during your stay. Each boat is equipped with life vests, nets, fish tub, and either a 15hp or 25hp motor. Additional angling tools are available including fish finders and downriggers. They can l outfit you with tackle if needed, but most folks bring their own. Gas is unlimited for the rental boats and available anytime at the dock.
Concentrate on those long Spring days to give you many hours on the water!
Be aware however that you are allowed to keep only 1 walleye over 26” (we think that is per day)- so all those other 30” walleyes need to be released. But those smaller ‘eyes are better eating anyway- and 1 trophy for the wall is enough. You will fish the bay right in front of the lodge- it is one of the best walleye fisheries anywhere! Go around the corner for lakers and prospect shallows for pike!
